Winter and Summer holidays in Champagny en Vanoise, La Plagne, France
We offer good quality accommodation in the beautiful village of Champagny en Vanoise, a lovely unspoilt village in the Savoie region of the French Alps.
We have owned property in the village for over 20 years- a 2 bedroom apartment to comfortably sleep 4 people and a smaller studio to sleep up to 4 people.
The apartment is now only used for our personal use and home-swaps, the studio is now primarily used for home swaps but is also rented out via booking.com for the peak winter and summer periods.
Champagny is an authentic mountain village, originally a farming village, that has been tastefully developed into a modern Alpine resort ideal for your winter or summer holiday.
For Winter sports lovers Champagny is geographically right in the heart of the biggest concentration of World class ski resorts on the planet. It is part of the La Plagne ski area which offers over 225kms of prepared pistes as well as being linked to Les Arcs via the Vanoise Exprees cable car. This has created the massive Paradiski area offering over 415kms of prepared pistes as well as some great off-piste routes.
Nearby is Courchevel, part of the massive 3 valleys ski area, offering a further 600kms of prepared pistes. The Espace Killy resorts of Tignes and Val d'Isere, offering a further 300kms of pistes, are within easy travelling distance. All of these resorts can be reached easily as well as a few other smaller lesser known areas offering a variety of terrains for all level of skiers from beginners to experts.
In Summer we are at the gateway to the Vanoise National Park, offering over 500kms of marked trails for hikers and nature lovers as well as numerous other activities to keep the whole family occupied. You could try climbing, cycling, mountain biking, adveture parks, canoeing, white water rafting, paragliding, quad biking, golf, horse riding and fishing. Within the village facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, skateboard park, football pitch and table tennis.
For those after a more leisurely holiday the climate in Summer is fantastic with hot sunny days but cooler at night so you can truly enjoy the outdoor lifestyle.
Despite all of these attractions it seems to be a well guarded secret and is not frequented by the major tour operators, a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by the independent traveller.
